Offer of free Norwegian language training for Ukrainian refugees with temporary collective protection

Alfaskolen offers in collaboration with IMDi 50 hours of free Norwegian language training for refugees from Ukraine with temporary collective protection.

The language course will take place either on the school’s premises, or online in a virtual classroom. For online learning, students need access to a computer / tablet with a camera and a microphone, and stable internet.

Requirements for participants:

  • Ukrainian refugees with temporary collective protection
    • The target group is refugees from Ukraine with temporary collective protection, who are waiting to be settled (bosetting) in a municipality, or who after settlement go straight to work instead of participating in an introductory program (introduksjonprogrammet).
  • No or little knowledge of the Norwegian language (A0-A2)
    • See here if the participant has prior knowledge of Norwegian (B1+). 

How do I sign up?

  • Participants must fill out a self-declaration form online
    • If anyone has Norwegian skills from before, they will receive a placement test they must take before they can start courses
  • Qualified participants will receive start dates for courses and can register via the link.
    • Classroom teaching
      • Before the course begins, participants will receive an invitation via email with classroom number and access code. 
    • Online teaching
      • Before the course begins, participants will receive an invitation to Zoom and access to our digital learning resource.
