Our Norwegian Intermediate Course is the ideal complement for anyone who already has basic knowledge of Norwegian, corresponding to A2 level. With our course, you learn new vocabulary quickly and successfully.
The B1 Intermediate Level integrates our innovative and up-to-date teaching techniques with the valuable help of our expert teachers, who designed the lessons as short and intense learning sessions. Each lesson is taught in Norwegian, with the visual support logically integrated in the context, creating the perfect environment to learn the Norwegian Intermediate Level.
Our B1 Intermediate courses are for those who want to speak and write Norwegian with confidence. Perfect for those who want the vocabulary and grammar needed to talk and read fluently in Norwegian.
Starting from 2,995During the course our teachers cover the following topics: Norwegian speaking, pronunciation, writing, grammar rules, vocabulary, Norwegian conversation and communication skills. The interactive smart board help visual learners, and this method accelerates the learning speed, the comprehension of the spoken Norwegian and the fluency.

Alfaskolen is an officially recognized provider of tuition. Hours undertaken in our Norwegian courses are approved by UDI in applications for a permanent residence permit.
This course is designed for learners who have completed Beginner courses A0 – A2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. If you want to join this course without having completed the A2 level, we encourage you to take our Norwegian Placement Test to confirm your level.
Choose what best fits your interests, needs and time availability. You can attend sessions once a week (Saturdays only, 6 lesson hours per session), twice a week (3 lesson hours per session for classroom-based courses and 2 lesson hours for online Norwegian courses, Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday) or four times a week (Monday – Thursday). Each lesson hour lasts 45 minutes.
You can choose to attend our courses at our school in Oslo or via Zoom. Certified, experienced native or native -like speaking teachers for one-on-one or group classes. All of our prices are in NOK.
This is a course designed for learners who have completed Beginner courses A1 – A2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You will gain a working knowledge of Norwegian grammar and continue to focus on pronunciation and active use of Norwegian.
This second intermediate-level language course continues from B1.1 Norwegian course and is perfect for those who want to increase their vocabulary and learn idioms and varied ways of expressing themselves in different contexts.
This third intermediate-level language course continues from B1.2 Norwegian course. The course is for those who want to understand oral presentations on everyday life and current issues, including the ability to understand the main ideas of radio and television programs.
This is our best deal for the intermediate-level of Norwegian at Alfaskolen. You will gain a working knowledge of Norwegian grammar and continue to focus on pronunciation and active use of Norwegian.
With this course, you will complete B1.1 and B1.2 of the B1 level.
With this course, you will complete B1.3 and B1.4 of the B1 level.

Are you planning to take Norskprøve A2-B1? This course is for students who wish to prepare for a Norwegian public exam or feel the need for repetition of the material covered in levels A2 and B1 and wish to prepare themselves for the next level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Ideally, you should have completed standard or intensive courses on B1-level before taking this course. Learn more.
Our preparation course for the social studies exam (samfunnskunnskapsprøven) is intended for students who are planning to take the social studies exam in Norwegian managed by the Directorate for higher education and skills. Due to a higher level required for taking the social study exam, we recommend that all participants have taken equivalent courses to reach B1 level. Learn more

Grammar B1 strengthens your use of Norwegian grammar in everyday situations. You need to speak Norwegian well and be, at a minimum, at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Learn more.
Course Certificate
At the end of the B1 Intermediate Level, if you complete 80% or more of the course’s content, you will receive an official digital course certificate. This certificate is valid for permanent residence and citizenship applications in Norway.
Public holidays
Sessions that per regular schedule would fall on a Norwegian public holiday, will be rescheduled to take place on a Friday.
